On Saturday I spent the day in Waterstones in Durham. I had fun chatting with the book group, which had just been reading a book called 'The Great Chocoplot’ which was written by a friend of mine - Chris Callaghan - then I stayed in store and signed books for people who were buying Christmas presents. It was a long and exhausting day, but when I got home, I found a parcel waiting for me. Inside the parcel was . . . my ‘author copy’ of Below Zero.
The book looks fantastic! My publisher, Chicken House, has done a brilliant job with the cover, and the extra details inside are so COOL. There are special designs for each chapter heading, and a message from Barry Cunningham inside. Barry is the man in charge at Chicken House, and he’s very well known for being the man who ‘discovered’ JK Rowling. He was the man who loved Harry Potter and decided to publish it! So, when he says great things about your books, you know it must mean something!
Anyway, I’ve put a couple of pictures of the book here for you to see. Hopefully I’ll get a box of new copies some time in the next couple of weeks, and when the first one comes out of the box, I’m going to sign it and put it to one side. Then we’re going to run a competition for you guys to have the chance to win the very first signed copy!
I hope you have a great week at school!
